What a joy to see so many people using Tunepal at Scoil Samhraidh Willie Clancy last week! It is the greatest happiness to me to see my software being used to learn Traditional Irish Music. Tunepal provides the music scores to over 24K traditional melodies in your pocket and can be searched by title or by playing a few notes from the tune. It has around 100K users and 60K tune searches every month! Its users are from every country in the world and Tunepal is beloved in the trad community. For my PhD in DIT in 2009, I developed the algorithms for matching live playing with music scores. It was such a useful invention, I released it as Tunepal and it has been growing in usage ever since. A true Irish and TU Dublin Computer Science success story!
